Boring Intro No One Reads

I think we were talking about Instant Pots at work one day, and one of my coworkers told me I had to try steaming these Tamales from Trader Joe's. I had no idea what a tamale was, but thought why the fuck not. The wrapper is strange, and I definitely wasn't sure at first what to do with it. But like all things Trader Joe it ended up being delicious. Also there's 3 different varieties so as long as you shake it up every once in a while it won't get boring.

I added yellow rice and dumped some of my favorite Salsa on top, but feel free to dress your tamales however you like. If you come up with a good variation, send it my way!

What's In This Thing?
Rice (preferably yellow rice)
Package of Tamales
Salsa
    Alright, Let's Do This Already
Start cooking rice according to package directions
Add one cup of water to the Instant Pot. Grab your packet of tamales and place them on top of the steamer basket in the Instant Pot. Set the mode to steam and the time to 15 minutes, make sure the top vent is sealed.
Once both the rice and the tamales are done you can quick release the valve on the Instant Pot. Unwrap the tamales and place them on top of the rice, and pour the salsa on top.
Feeling Fancy
Feel free to make this as unhealthy as possible with shredded Mexican cheese and sour cream. Some avocado slices couldn't hurt either.
Extreme Laziness
If for some reason following the instructions on a packet of rice is too much for you, I SUPPOSE you could use either microwavable or frozen rice. Honestly if I could find a decent microwavable yellow rice I would switch to that.
